The Oquirrh Mountain Symphony (OMS) presents “Spotlight Spectacular Encore” on Friday, May 21st, at Elk Ridge Middle School (3659 W. 9800 S.) at 7:30pm. The performance will feature the winners of the RMO’s 6th Annual Concerto Competition: Whitney Pizza (piano), Brenden McQuay (tuba), David Horton (piano) and Alexis Ericksen (violin). Refreshments will be served immediately following the performance.





Concerto Competition

2011 competition to be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011

Concerto winnerThe Oquirrh Mountain Symphony Competition is held annually, usually in January or February. It is an opportunity for talented musicians and vocalists around the state to compete for an opportunity to perform with the OMS in the annual “Spotlight Spectacular” performance in May.

Entry Form

Judging Criteria

Contestants are evaluated by a panel of three judges in ten criteria, each on a scale of one to five with five being the highest and one being the lowest score. Six of these criteria are designated as Technical and four are designated as Artistic. Both of these major designations are totaled separately, and then the panel’s scores are combined for the Grand Total score.
